↳This video is about le passe muraille 2013 in korea
Journalist Ahn Sooyoung’s encounter with Kim Dongwan at Yellowknife during his Canada trip
Background: Ahn Sooyoung is a writer for IT Donga who was doing an assignment about the LG smartphone, G Pro 2, and using its camera and camcorder to capture the Aurora lights. She wrote about her experience as journal entries and was lucky enough to meet Oppayam.
DAY 1. 2014/02/05
The journey is not romantic, and the man of mystery
On the plane from Calgary to Yellowknife, one man caught my eye. He was a Korean and extraordinarily handsome. He also seemed to resemble someone…(My departing plane, destination, and even the time of my plane heading back to Vancouver also happened to coincide with this man)
DAY 3. 2014/02/07
The identity of the man I met on the plane
There is no such thing as getting a cold in Yellowknife. Because the temperature is so low, a virus cannot circulate. However, in the instance that you come from Korea with the flu, the cold symptoms can get worse. As I started coughing, someone, who was difficult to identify due to the hood and cap that enclosed him, spoke to me.
“(You’re coughing) because you didn’t drink enough yesterday.”
“You would’ve gotten better if you had downed a shot of soju with red pepper flakes (laughs). Are you okay?”
While I couldn’t pay attention to anything because of my coughing, the man who spoke to me disappeared out of the teepee. After he disappeared, one member of the party asked me,
“Did you see the celebrity?”
“That person that was here before, he’s Shinhwa’s Kim Dongwan.”
Goodness gracious, the handsome man that I saw on the first day on the plane to Yellowknife was Shinhwa’s Kim Dongwan. At that time, I thought “no way” and that he did resemble him, but it was actually the real person. What a coincidence. It so happened that the time of my plane to Vancouver coincided with his. Although it was hard to meet him again on-site, I was able to have an encounter on February 9th at the Yellowknife airport. The site of the February 9th solo fan meeting(?) is summarized as follows:
He had come to Yellowknife after reading photographer Kwon O Chul’s book The Spirit of the Divine, Aurora. When he went to the site, he was shocked at the news that photographer Kwon was there, and the two people met. At the end of his conversation with Kwon, he found out about my project. Just as he knew that I had interviewed photographer Kwon, he already knew of my existence. I didn’t even know! My face turned red.
As friendly as a neighborhood oppa, he said that he would make his Aurora trip into a video. He had said that he wanted to use “Let It Go” from the Frozen OST, which has been a hot issue lately, as the background music, and he really did. Kim Dongwan’s Aurora-related video follows: (Click here if you didn’t see our post with his video).
